Working in partnership with Dover Technical College, we want to plan, design and deliver a new work experience programme to benefit local young adults and the wider community.
It is envisaged that the students and staff will develop the project, focusing on a social action which for 2020 will be hygiene poverty, as part of their curriculum.
The #BESMART Day on 4th October raised vital funds to kick-start this project and it is important for us as a local charity that local people who kindly support us see how their money is really helping people in our community.
The aim is that in May 2020 we will open a BESMART Pop Up shop in Dover high-street, it will provide hygiene products at low / no cost for people in need.
The students will run the shop alongside some of our participants from the ART of Age group, who are living with a dementia. This has been inspired by Channel 4’s ‘The Restaurant That Makes Mistakes’.
Its all about giving people opportunities that will have a positive impact on them now and for their future.
