Young Carers

If you are a Young Carer or Young Adult Carer and you like art then you might like to join our support group in the gallery.

Young Carers (aged 5 to 12)  meet every Saturday morning from 10.30am to midday.

Young Adult Carers (aged 12 to 18)  meet every Monday from 4pm to 6pm.

Young Adult Carers Plus (aged 18 plus) meet every Saturday from 3pm to 4pm.

The groups start with healthy snacks and refreshments, we then do an art activity inside or outside the gallery depending on the weather.  We like to be active and just have a lovely time.

What is a Young Carer?

A young carer is someone who looks after another person. … A young carer might look after someone because they’re sick, or have a disability or mental health issues. Or, if a parent or family member has an alcohol or drug problem, they may be unable to care for themselves or anyone else.

Young adult carers are young people who care, unpaid, for a family member or friend with an illness or disability, mental health condition or an addiction.
