Dover smART Project was founded in 2013 to provide opportunities for disadvantaged children in Dover to take part in a wide range of creative activities and experiences to boost their confidence, enhance their well-being, raise their aspirations and widen their outlook on the world. The charity soon evolved and began similar work with other groups, such as the people without a home and hospice patients, using art and creativity to support their various needs.

OUR VISION: Is to create a balance of opportunities for people in the Dover district in terms of experiences, access to services, building aspirations and nurturing well-being.

OUR MISSION: Dover smART Project exists to support and enhance the extraordinary lives of people in our community through creative projects.

Respectful – whatever your background, whoever you are, we will listen.

Caring – kindness is at the core of what we do.

Supportive – we’re here to support you or help you find the support you need.

Creative – we’re creative in our work, in our thinking and in our approach.

Collaborative – we work in partnership with you and with other organisations. Life is better together.

Committed – everyone at DSP will always give their best.

We regularly work with –

  • Young Carers and their families
  • School groups
  • People living with a dementia
  • Hospice patients and their families
  • People without somewhere to call home
  • People who are coping with mental health issues and social isolation

We often work in partnership with schools, businesses and other organisations in and around Dover to provide creative and supportive services and to target particular areas of need.

We are supported by our Trustees and an amazing team of volunteers.  The charity is registered with the charity commission and works to its smART Policies.
